This Hyattsville CDC project is performed in partnership with the City of Hyattsville, Prince George's County, and the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development. It is funded through a $ 10,000 cash contribution from the City of Hyattsville, a $5,000 Special Appropriations Grant through the Office Of Councilmember Will Campos (District 2) and a $25,000 Maryland Economic Development Assistance Fund award to the Hyattsville CDC. The Hyattsville CDC has provided a match to the grant in the form of its preliminary Parking District Study Analysis.

The commercial district of the Hyattsville Downtown Route One Corridor spans a distance nearly one half mile long, running from Farragut St to Madison St. Earlier strategic analysis and the present demands of planned and new construction, and commercial interests in the area has led the City of Hyattsville, Prince George’s County, the local development community, and the Hyattsville CDC to consider and assess the economic impact and feasibility of building structured parking along the US Route One Corridor to enable and support the revitalization activity these parties are promoting and facilitating.
